January 2020

Well, here we are, swinging around the end of 2019 and right into a new decade. Exciting! 2020 promises to be a great year for our Grange and we’re looking forward to sharing it all with you, our lovely community.

The Grange Concert Series (managed by our Concert Coordinator, the multi-talented Jesse Martinez) is off to a great start, with 2 big shows coming up. Save the dates of January 18th and February 16th for musical fun with some excellent performers.

First, on January 18th, we have Alisa Fineman and Kimball Hurd in concert

The Monterey County Weekly had this to say about them: “Long time Aromas residents, Alisa and Kimball are a fresh folk/rock, pop duo with gorgeous harmonies, an exquisite blend of acoustic instruments and insightful lyrics that speak directly to the heart.”

Check out the website for more info about this amazing duo.

Show will start at 7:30 pm, with the doors opening at 6:30 pm for seating.

Tickets are available for $25 General Admission and $35 for GOLD CIRCLE Reserved (first 4 rows) seating. Tickets can be purchased  at Marshalls Market in Aromas and online at brownpapertickets.com

Email concerts@aromasgrange.org for more info.

Bring your friends and enjoy a night of great music and great company…see you there!

On January 19th

, the Grange will be hosting a District 2 Town Hall meeting, moderated by the League of Women Voters. Start time is 3pm. We look forward to hearing from the candidates for County Supervisor and getting to know more about their positions.

Neighbors Helping Neighbors continues their Good Works with Free Fruits and Vegetables Distribution on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month (the 7th and 21st of January) from 5-6pm. You don’t have to prove need, but do bring your own bags, please!

There is no Senior Lunch in January, but we’ll be back on February 5th for fun company and delicious food!

And finally, PANCAKE BREAKFAST IS BACK!  January 26th from 7:30am-11am. Ham or sausage (or neither!), eggs, juice, coffee, and all-you-can-eat pancakes for only $8. Again, great food and great company…I sense a theme here 🙂

As we head into this New Year, this new decade, let’s remember the sweet blessings of a fresh start. I don’t know about y’all, but my mailbox has been full of seed catalogs…what’s more hopeful than seeds? So much possibility held in such a tiny packet. And yet, the full swing of work-work-work isn’t here yet; we still have time to dream of what’s to come. Enjoy, my friends, and we’ll see ya at the Grange!

One last thing: like us on Facebook to stay up to date on all the happenings!
