February 2020

Here we go, rolling right along into February… The days are starting to noticeably lengthen and it’s about time to get those seedlings started so they’re ready to go in the ground in a couple months!

Meanwhile, more good stuff is coming up at the Grange…

The Grange Concert Series (managed by our Concert Coordinator, the multi-talented Jesse Martinez) is in full swing. Last month, we got to enjoy Alisa Fineman and Kimball Hurd, which was just amazing.

This month, the Backyard Birds will be performing on February 16th!

Here’s what the critics are saying: “Gorgeous folksy renditions…The harmonies have only gotten better…a local treat” – Aaron Carnes, Good Times

“A collection of songs that make your heart sway, and voices that find that sweet spot, and keep you dancing in your dreams” – Christina Wise, Press Banner

Doesn’t that sound like something you want to check out?!

Not only that, but we will be featuring the Aromas Grange’s famous Roast Chicken Dinner (not included in the ticket price): Chicken, baked potato, green salad & vegetarian beans with homemade cookies for dessert.

We will also be selling premium beers and wines, coffee, tea & juice drinks.

The show will start at 4:30 PM, with the doors opening at 3:30 PM for dinner. Tickets are available for only $15 GENERAL ADMISSION seating. Purchase either online at brownpapertickets.com or at Marshalls Market in Aromas (no service fee). Tickets will be $20 at the door (if they are available).

Email concerts@aromasgrange.org for more info.

Bring your friends and enjoy a night of great music and great company…see you there!

On February 22nd

Of course, we still have our ongoing weekly and monthly events:

Neighbors Helping Neighbors continues their Good Works with Free Fruits and Vegetables Distribution on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month (the 4th and 18th of February) from 5-6pm. You don’t have to prove need, but do bring your own bags, please!

There’s the Senior Lunch first Wednesdays… this month it’s on February 5th from noon to 1:30pm: fun company and delicious food!

We also have Tai Chi on Mondays and Wednesdays at 8:45am, and Yoga on Thursday nights at 6pm.

The wonderful Fiber Group gets together Thursdays from 3pm – 5:30pm for knitting, weaving, spinning, felting and other shenanigans.  This has really taken off in a big way, and we’re so lucky to have such talented folks in our community. Every skill level is welcome!

And finally, PANCAKE BREAKFAST!  February 23rd from 7:30am-11am. Ham or sausage (or neither!), eggs, juice, coffee, and all-you-can-eat pancakes for only $8. Again, great food and great company…I sense a theme here 🙂

Dear friends and neighbors, as we move out of the dark time of year, let’s remember that cozy feeling of curling up by the fire, enjoying the winter pleasure of soup and bread and tea. Yes, it’s still cold outside, but so gorgeous and crisp. We’re getting some of the most beautiful sunsets lately and whenever I stand on my porch and look out on the beauty of this place, I think about my neighbors maybe doing the same. We’re all in this together, fam, on the same land, under the same sky. Lucky as all get-out to be here.

(For more information about any of the above events, shoot me an email at hallrentals@aromasgrange.org and I’ll figure out who can answer your questions…Thanks~Jenya)
